Typical colouration consists of bright orange on the head, body, and upper arms, with bluish-green underparts, legs, and lower arms.
Color Morph
A colour morph found near Quepos, Costa Rica, replaces the typical orange colour with olive green.
Native Range
This species is native to Costa Rica and Panama.
Range Details and Elevation
Its range stretches from southwestern Costa Rica into the adjacent area of southwestern Panama, occurring at elevations up to 100 m (328 ft) above sea level.
Additional Known Location
It is also found in Piedras Blancas National Park in southeastern Costa Rica.
Habitat
It lives in the leaf litter on the floor of humid low-altitude forests.
