Taxonomy and Nomenclature
Scarus flavipectoralis, commonly called the yellow-fin parrotfish, and also known as the king parrotfish, is a species of marine ray-finned fish that belongs to the parrotfish family Scaridae.
Distribution Region
This species is distributed in the western Central Pacific region.
Range Extent
Its range extends from the Philippines eastward to the Solomon Islands, northward to the Marshall Islands, and southward to Scott Reef and the Great Barrier Reef.

It has also been recorded occurring in Tonga.
