Digitalis parviflora Jacq. is either a short-lived herbaceous perennial or a biennial. It reaches a height of 60 cm (24 in). In late spring and early summer, spires of tubular rust-red flowers grow up from downy leaf rosettes. This species is cultivated as an ornamental plant. It grows best in a semi-shaded location with damp soil. Both the species itself and its cultivar 'Milk Chocolate' have received the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.
