Distribution and Habitat
This perennial plant is native to the eastern Alps of Italy, Austria, and Slovenia, and grows exclusively on dolomite in this region.
Initial Publication
The species was originally published under the name Veronica bonarota by Carl Linnaeus in his 1753 work Species Plantarum.
Taxonomic Reclassification
In 1762, Linnaeus reclassified and renamed the species to Paederota bonarota.
