Nomenclature and Taxonomy

Rhabdomys pumilio, commonly known as the four-striped grass mouse or four-striped grass rat, is a rodent species that belongs to the Muridae family.

Geographic Distribution

This species is distributed across the southern half of Africa, ranging north as far as the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and can be found at elevations up to 2,300 metres (7,500 ft) above sea level.

Natural Habitats

Its natural habitats include savannas, shrublands, Mediterranean-type shrubby vegetation, hot deserts, arable land, rural gardens, and urban areas.
