Adult Size

Adults of Porthidium dunni usually measure 30–40 cm (11+3⁄4–15+3⁄4 in) in total length including the tail, with a maximum recorded total length of 57 cm (22+1⁄2 in).

Morphology

This is a moderately stout, terrestrial species, and the tip of its snout is moderately elevated.

Distribution Range

Porthidium dunni is distributed in the Pacific lowlands of Oaxaca and western Chiapas in southern Mexico.

Type Locality

Its given type locality is the immediate vicinity of the village of Tehuantepec, Oaxaca, Mexico.

Preferred Habitat

The species' preferred natural habitat is forest.

Reproduction Mode

Porthidium dunni reproduces via ovoviviparity.
