It has been officially recorded in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, Tanzania, Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
Predicted Distribution
The exact boundaries of its distribution are very uncertain, though, and it is likely that the species also occurs in Burundi and Rwanda.

Two common names for this species are margined sedge frog and margined reed frog.
