It can be found on stony ground, in Triodia-dominated deserts, and it is a ground-dwelling gecko.

Its typical habitats include leaf litter, rubbish piles, and areas beneath rocks.

Alternative Habitats

It is also sometimes found in the lower sections of hummock grass.

Taxonomic Naming Note

Note that the name western clawless gecko is also used for the separate species Crenadactylus occidentalis.
