Taxonomy and Naming

Coryphopterus glaucofraenum, commonly known as the bridled goby, is a goby species first described by Gill in 1863.

Distribution Range

This species is native to the Western Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea, ranging from North Carolina to Brazil.

Habitat and Depth

It lives on reefs in regions with white sand at depths between 2 metres (6.6 ft) and 45 metres (147.6 ft).

Size

The maximum total length this species can reach is 8 centimetres (3.1 in).

Human Use

It occasionally enters the aquarium trade.
