Nomenclature
The white-headed marmoset, with the scientific name Callithrix geoffroyi, is also commonly called the tufted-ear marmoset, Geoffroy's marmoset, or Geoffrey's marmoset.
Endemic Range
It is a species of marmoset endemic to forests in eastern Brazil.
Native and Introduced Distribution
It is native to the Brazilian states of Bahia, Espírito Santo, and Minas Gerais, and has been introduced to Santa Catarina.
Local Common Name
In Brazil, this species is known as sagüi or sauim.
Diet
Its diet is made up of fruits, insects, and tree gum.
Parasite Host
It acts as a host for Pachysentis lenti, an acanthocephalan intestinal parasite.
