Balsamocarpon brevifolium Clos, commonly known as algarrobilla, is a species of flowering plant in the legume family, Fabaceae. It is the only species classified in the genus Balsamocarpon. The genus Balsamocarpon is placed in the subfamily Caesalpinioideae and the tribe Caesalpinieae. This species is endemic to northern and north-central Chile, specifically the regions of Atacama and Coquimbo.
