About Allionia incarnata L.
Allionia incarnata L. is a flowering plant belonging to the four o'clock family, Nyctaginaceae. It is native to the Caribbean, the southern United States, and extends south through Central America into most of western South America. This species is typically a perennial herbaceous plant, though it occasionally grows as an annual, and produces dark pink flowers. It goes by several common names: pink three-flower, pink windmills, trailing allionia, trailing four-o'clock, and trailing windmills. Three varieties of this species are currently accepted: Allionia incarnata var. incarnata L., Allionia incarnata var. nudata (Standl.) Munz, and Allionia incarnata var. villosa (Standl.) B.L.Turner.
