Valenciennea puellaris, commonly called the Orange-spotted sleeper-goby, Orange-dashed goby, Maiden goby, or Diamond Watchman goby, is a species of goby.

Native Range

This species is native to the Indian Ocean and the western Pacific Ocean.

Habitat and Substrate Preference

It lives in lagoons and outer reefs, where it occurs on sandy substrates that contain larger pieces of rubble to burrow under.

Maximum Length

This goby can reach a maximum length of 20 centimetres (7.9 in) measured as standard length.

Aquarium Presence

It is a common fish kept in the aquarium hobby.

Diet

Its main diet consists of zooplankton and dead fish or invertebrates.
