The species gets its common name from the features of its plumage: it is brownish-grey on its upper body and lighter on its lower body, with white tips on the feathers of the throat, neck, and head.

Natural Habitats
Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forest, dry savanna, and subtropical or tropical moist shrubland.
