Taxonomy and Common Name

Tropidurus oreadicus, commonly called calango in Brazil, is a species of lizard in the family Tropiduridae.

Native Distribution

This species is endemic to Brazil, and it is widely distributed across the Cerrado and Caatinga biomes.

Size

Males reach a snout–vent length (SVL) of 104 mm (4.1 in), while females reach 85 mm (3.3 in) in SVL.

Tail Length

The tail of Tropidurus oreadicus measures 1.2 to 1.8 times the length of its snout–vent.

Reproductive Mode

This lizard is oviparous.

Reproductive Timing

Its reproductive period lines up with the rainy season in the Cerrado and Caatinga biomes.
