Distribution Range

The hairy-breasted barbet is distributed across Angola, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Republic of the Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Ghana, Guinea, Kenya, Liberia, Mali, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, Tanzania, Togo and Uganda.

Total Range Area

Its total range is estimated to cover 6,840,000 km2 (2,640,000 sq mi).

Elevation and Habitat

It occurs at elevations up to 1,800 m (5,900 ft), and primarily inhabits lowland primary forests, though it also occurs in older secondary forests.
