About Spatalla mollis R.Br.
This species has the scientific name Spatalla mollis R.Br. It is a flat, rounded shrub that reaches only 80 cm (31 in) in height, and it flowers from July to December. This plant dies after fires, but its seeds are able to survive. The species produces bisexual flowers, and is pollinated by insects. Two months after flowering, ripe seeds fall to the ground, where they are spread by ants. It occurs in a range from the Hottentots Holland Mountains and Groenlandberg to Kleinmondberg. It grows in peaty soil along moist streams and on river banks, at elevations between 450–920 m (1,480–3,020 ft).
