This frog is found on the Atlantic slopes of southeastern Mexico, Belize, and Guatemala, ranging from Jalapa de Díaz in Mexico to Sierra del Mico in Guatemala.

Habitat

Its natural habitats are humid mid-altitude and montane forests, and it can also live in secondary forests.

Breeding Sites

Breeding occurs in temporary pools, streams, and water-filled depressions in logs.

Threats

This species is threatened by habitat loss, and potentially threatened by chytridiomycosis.
