Taxonomy and Distribution
It is a member of the frog family Hylidae, and it is endemic to the island of Hispaniola, which includes both the Dominican Republic and Haiti. On Hispaniola, this is an abundant, widespread species that can be found from sea level up to 2,000 meters (6,600 feet) above sea level.
Habitat
It lives in any location near water, including both forested areas and open human-modified habitats.
Breeding Habitat
It breeds in standing water bodies, which can be either temporary or permanent.
