Native Range
Its native range covers tropical and subtropical regions of China, Taiwan, and large portions of Southeast Asia.
Introduced Range
It has also been introduced to Guam.
Elevation Range
This species has been observed at elevations ranging from 0 to 2200 meters above sea level.
Habitat Types

Tadpole Development
When the eggs hatch, the tadpoles drop into the water below.
Oviposition Preference
These frogs can lay their eggs over many types of standing water, but they appear to prefer dense vegetation and shallow water.
Global Conservation Status
Scientists do not consider P. braueri to be in danger of extinction, due to its large range and presumed large total population.
Local Threat
The local population of this species in Taiwan may be threatened by competition from Polypedates megacephalus, a species that humans introduced to the area.
