Plethodon electromorphus, commonly called the northern ravine salamander, is a small terrestrial salamander.
Adult Size
Adults measure 7.5–11.5 cm (3.0–4.5 in) in total length.
Body Shape
It has an elongated, slender body with short legs.
Dorsal Coloration
Its base color ranges from brown to nearly black, and is covered in tiny silvery white, bronzy or brassy specks.
Lateral Markings
It has very small, irregular white blotches along its lower sides.
Ventral Coloration
Its belly is almost uniformly dark, while its chin is lightly mottled.
Geographic Range
This species has been recorded in Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.

Its natural habitats are temperate forests and rocky areas.
