Ophthalmolepis lineolata, commonly known as the southern Maori wrasse, is a species of wrasse that is endemic to the coastal waters of Australia in the Indian Ocean.

This species has been recorded at a minimum depth of 60 meters, which equals 200 feet.
Maximum Length
It can reach a total length of up to 40 centimeters, or 16 inches.
Genus Status
This species is the only known member of the genus Ophthalmolepis.
