Taxonomy

Occidozyga martensii, commonly known as the round-tongued floating frog, is a species of frog belonging to the family Dicroglossidae. Some taxonomic treatments suggest that Occidozyga magnapustulosus, a frog found in scattered locations across northern Thailand and Laos, may be classified as part of this species.

General Distribution

The round-tongued floating frog occurs across most of Indochina.

Specific Range Records

It has been recorded in Cambodia, southern China including Yunnan, Guangxi, Guangdong, and Hainan, Laos, northern peninsular Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam, and may also be present in Myanmar.

Habitat

Its natural habitats include subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest, rivers, intermittent rivers, swamps, freshwater marshes, intermittent freshwater marshes, ponds, irrigated land, canals, and ditches.
