About Mucuna bennettii F.Muell.
Mucuna bennettii, commonly called New Guinea creeper, red jade vine, or flame of the forest, is a flowering plant species belonging to the legume family Fabaceae. Its natural distribution ranges from Sulawesi to Vanuatu. The species was first formally described in 1876 by Ferdinand von Mueller, a botanist working for the Victorian government. It grows twining stems that bear glossy green leaves, and produces long pendulous clusters of claw-shaped, bright fiery scarlet flowers.
