Monarda russeliana Nutt. ex Sims, commonly referred to as M. russeliana, is a perennial herb. It reaches a maximum height of 30 inches, which equals 76 centimeters. Its flowering period occurs from April to June each year. The flower petals range in color from pale lavender to white, and are marked with purple dots. Its leaves are fragrant, simple in structure, and grow in an opposite arrangement along the stem. This species grows in rocky or sandy soil, and can be found in open, partially shaded woodlands. It is native to the U.S. states of Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky, Oklahoma, and Texas.
