Description of Mimon cozumelae: its forearm length ranges from 53.1–59 mm (2.09–2.32 in), individual individuals weigh approximately 35 g (1.2 oz), and it has a dental formula of 2.1.2.3 over 1.1.2.3, giving a total of 30 teeth. Range and habitat: The Cozumelan golden bat is a lowland species found in mature evergreen, semi-deciduous, and dry forest. It has been recorded at elevations from 0–600 m (0–1,969 ft) above sea level. Biology and ecology: By day, it roosts in small groups, mostly in limestone caves, and sometimes in hollow logs. It hunts at night and may glean prey from tree foliage. Its confirmed diet includes beetles, katydids, birds, and lizards. Breeding occurs at the start of the rainy season, and females give birth to a single offspring each time.
