Micryletta erythropoda, commonly called the Mada paddy frog, is a species of frog in the family Microhylidae.

Recorded Distribution

This species has been recorded in Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Natural Habitats

Its natural habitats are swamps, freshwater marshes, and intermittent freshwater marshes.

Genus Classification Revision

It was formerly classified in the genus Microhyla, but a 2018 study confirmed it belongs to the genus Micryletta.

Historical Endemism Status

Before 2019, M. erythropoda was considered endemic to Vietnam.

2019 Distribution Reclassification

A 2019 study found that several Micryletta populations in southern Myanmar and Thailand that were previously classified as M. inornata actually belong to this species, M. erythropoda.
