Atlantic Drainage Range
Its geographic range extends along the Atlantic drainage from the Mexican states of Tabasco and Chiapas in Mexico, south to the Canal Zone in Panama.
Costa Rica and Panama Distribution
It can also be found on both slopes of Costa Rica and Panama.
Elevation Range
It occurs at elevations between 40–1,600 m, or 130–5,250 ft.
Type Locality
Its designated type locality is Cobán, Alta Verapaz, Guatemala, which was originally recorded as "Coban, capitale de la province de la Véra-Paz, (République de Guatemala, Amérique centrale)".
