About Lycopus lucidus Turcz. ex Benth.

Lycopus lucidus Turcz. ex Benth. is a plant species belonging to the Lamiaceae family. In traditional Chinese medicine, two parts of this plant are used: its aerial parts, known in Chinese as 泽兰 zélán, and its dried rhizomes, known in Chinese as 地笋 dìsǔn. This plant is reputed in traditional Chinese medicine to promote blood circulation, promote qi (energy), and prevent water retention. It is described as having a warming property, and a mild bittersweet flavor.
