Size

This species is an uncommon resident found in mopane woodlands and mixed thorn fields across northeastern Namibia (particularly the Waterberg plateau), northern Botswana, southern Angola, and eastern Zimbabwe.

Its diet consists of fruits, large insects, nuts, and small reptiles.
Etymology
Both the common name and the scientific Latin binomial honor R. D. Bradfield, a South African naturalist who lived from 1882 to 1949.
