Its holotype locality is 12 km east of Teloloapan, Guerrero, Mexico.

It can be found across southern Mexico, including the Balsas Depression and the surrounding states of Guerrero, Morelos, Michoacán, Puebla, México, Oaxaca, Jalisco, and Colima.
