Hemiphragma heterophyllum var. heterophyllum ranges from the Himalayas to Myanmar, central and southern China, Taiwan, the Philippines, and Sulawesi.

Hemiphragma heterophyllum var. pedicellatum (Hand.-Mazz.) occurs in northwestern Yunnan, south-central China.
