Within its native range, abundant sweetly scented white or cream flowers grow in axillary racemose inflorescences between July and October.

Distribution and Habitat

Harsh hakea occurs across an area extending from Geraldton to Esperance, where it grows on hillsides, in shallow soil on granite outcrops, and on stabilised sand dunes.
