Its known geographic range covers southeastern China, Indonesia (including Bangka, Belitung, Java, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Sumatra, and We), Bangladesh, Cambodia, central and eastern India, Laos, Malaysia (including Malaya, East Malaysia, Borneo, and Pulau Tioman), Myanmar (also called Burma), Nepal, Pakistan, Singapore (with an uncertain presence record), Sri Lanka, Pulau Bangka, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Type Locality
The type locality for this species is recorded as "Indiae orientalis".
