About Drosanthemum speciosum (Haw.) Schwantes

Drosanthemum speciosum, commonly known as royal dewflower, is a succulent plant belonging to the ice plant family Aizoaceae. It is native to the Montague District, located in the southern part of South Africa's Cape Province. Its flowers bear two whorls of staminodes. The inner whorl contains approximately thirty very short staminodes that are almost black in color. The outer whorl holds around sixty long staminodes that are bright orange.
