Native Range
This species is native to the Eastern Cape of South Africa.
Naturalized Range
It has become naturalized in Portugal, the Australian states of South Australia, Western Australia, and Victoria, and Pacific Grove, California, where it is referred to as the Magic Carpet.
Growth Habit
It is a trailing perennial plant, with hairy stems and leaves that are either cylindrical or triangular in cross section.
Leaf Dimensions
Its leaves measure between 3 and 15 mm in length, and 1 to 2.5 mm in width.
Flower Features
The flowers can reach up to 2.5 cm in diameter, and are most often lavender or pink, and occasionally white.
