About Combretum kraussii Hochst.
Combretum kraussii Hochst. is a species of forest tree that is semi-deciduous: new spring leaves only partially replace the tree's older foliage. These forest trees become easily noticeable in late spring, when their new fresh leaves grow in a pale, nearly white color, before changing back to green by mid-summer. In winter, the existing foliage partially turns red or purple, and this winter foliage is shed just before the tree begins to flower. Fresh clusters of the tree's four-winged fruit have a striking red or yellowish red color, before drying out and turning mid-brown.
