About Ayenia compacta Rose

Ayenia compacta Rose is a small shrub that grows many erect, branching stems from a taproot, reaching up to 40 centimeters in total height. It bears sparse oval-shaped leaves with dull-toothed edges. Flowers grow from the leaf axils. Each flower has a layer of upcurled sepals, with a layer of downcurled petals positioned just above the sepals. Every individual petal has a threadlike claw. The fruit is a capsule, a purple-tinted yellow sphere that measures around half a centimeter wide.
