About Aconitum fischeri Rchb.

Aconitum fischeri is a species of flowering plant in the genus Aconitum, which belongs to the buttercup family, Ranunculaceae. This species is native to Korea and Siberia, and is cultivated in gardens located in temperate zones for its showy flowers. Plants of this species bloom from early to late summer. Aconitum fischeri contains the toxic compound aconitine. According to ancient Chinese medical lore, when carefully measured, prepared, and used, the plant is believed to be beneficial for treating colds, coughs, and fevers. However, even the slightest inaccuracy in dosage measurement makes it purely poisonous. Aconitum fischeri is susceptible to downy mildew, which is caused by the oomycete species Peronospora aconiti.
