About Acacia obtusifolia A.Cunn.
Acacia obtusifolia A.Cunn. is an upright or spreading perennial tree that grows 1.5 to 8 meters tall, and is native to the east coast of Australia. It is closely related to Acacia longifolia. A. obtusifolia can be distinguished from A. longifolia by its resinous phyllode margins, typically later flowering through the year, and paler flowers. Its flowering usually occurs from December to February. Some populations of A. obtusifolia can survive winter temperatures as low as −6 °C, and may tolerate light snow. However, populations from naturally frost-free areas, such as the coastal ranges of Northern New South Wales, are susceptible to cold and will be killed by frosts colder than −3 °C. These cold-sensitive populations do not grow on valley floors, and are found mainly on sandstone ridges located well above the frost line.
