Abudefduf declivifrons, commonly called the Mexican nightsergeant, is a damselfish species that belongs to the family Pomacentridae.
Distribution
It is native to the eastern Pacific Ocean, and is only found in Mexico, ranging from the Gulf of California to Acapulco.
Habitat and Depth Range
This species typically inhabits surge-exposed rocky reefs, at depths between 1 meter (3 feet) and 5 meters (16 feet).
Reproduction
It is an oviparous species; during the breeding season, individual fish form distinct mating pairs, and males guard and aerate the eggs.
Size
The maximum recorded standard length for this species is 18 centimeters (7.1 inches).
