Ziziphora capitata L. grows 3 to 12 cm tall, and has simple or branched stems. Its aromatic leaves are covered in fine hairs. Lower leaves measure 1 to 2.5 cm long and 0.5 to 0.8 cm wide, and have linear-lanceolate to elliptic blades; upper floral leaves are shaped like rhombic-ovate. Its flowers are tubular, with corollas that can be violet, purple, or pink. The flowers are clustered in a globose terminal head, which is subtended by rhombic-ovate bracts.
