About Wisteriopsis reticulata (Benth.) J.Compton & Schrire

Wisteriopsis reticulata is a flowering plant species belonging to the Fabaceae family. It is native to mainland China, Hainan, Taiwan, and Vietnam. George Bentham first described this species in 1852 under the name Millettia reticulata. In 1994, Anne M. Schot reclassified it as Callerya reticulata. Following a 2019 molecular phylogenetic study, the species was moved to the newly established genus Wisteriopsis, giving it its current scientific name Wisteriopsis reticulata (Benth.) J.Compton & Schrire. It has become naturalized in parts of Florida and Japan.
