About Vicia narbonensis L.
Vicia narbonensis has the common names Narbon bean, Narbon vetch, Narbonne vetch, and moor's pea. It is a widely distributed flowering plant species in the Fabaceae family. It is native to Madeira, Mediterranean countries, regions extending from the Mediterranean through Central Asia to the western Himalayas. It has been introduced to central and eastern Europe, as well as scattered other locations. Although it has some palatability issues, it shows potential for use as a green manure, forage crop, and a source of edible beans. It is the namesake species of the Vicia narbonensis species complex.
