About Vicia lathyroides L.

Vicia lathyroides L. is an annual plant species with stems that grow up to 12 centimeters long. Its leaves bear 2 or 4 pairs of leaflets, and terminate in either a tendril or a sharp point. It produces solitary, stalkless flowers that reach up to 6 millimeters in length, with purple petals. After flowering, it develops a seed pod that can grow up to 20 millimeters long. In terms of ecology, this species is found growing in sandy coastal ground within Ireland.
