About Veronica obtusata Cheeseman

Veronica obtusata Cheeseman is a sprawling shrub that bears paired dark green leaves. It is visually similar to Veronica bishopiana, but Veronica obtusata grows to a smaller size and does not have the maroon-green leaves that characterize Veronica bishopiana. Veronica bishopiana is naturally distributed across coastal areas of the Waitākere Ranges in West Auckland, as well as the Kawhia and Whaingaroa harbours in the western Waikato region; the populations of Veronica bishopiana located in Kawhia Harbour are considered threatened. Veronica obtusata is most commonly found growing on steep slopes and banks, cliff faces, and rock stacks.
