This species, the giant leaf-tail gecko Uroplatus fimbriatus (Schneider, 1797), is a large nocturnal gecko.

Its eyes are extremely sensitive to light, 350 times more sensitive than the human eye, which allows the species to see in colors even at night.

Diurnal Resting Behavior

During the day, it rests head-down, flattened against the surface of a small tree trunk.
