Tripodion tetraphyllum (L.) Fourr. is a species of flowering plant in the legume family Fabaceae, belonging to the subfamily Faboideae. It is the only accepted species in the genus Tripodion. This plant is an annual herb commonly called annual kidney vetch. It is native to the Mediterranean Basin, covering southern Europe, North Africa, and western Asia. In North Africa, it can be found growing in the Mediterranean–Sahara transition zone, and it also grows in anthropic landscapes. It has a self-supporting growth habit, with compound, broad leaves. Individual plants of this species can reach a height of 0.2 meters.
