About Trimezia northiana (Schneev.) Ravenna

Trimezia northiana, with the accepted scientific name Trimezia northiana (Schneev.) Ravenna, has a synonym of Neomarica northiana. It is commonly called North's false flag or walking iris. This is a flowering plant species that belongs to the iris family, Iridaceae, and grows from a rhizomatous rootstock. It is native to Brazil. For reproduction, plantlets develop at the ends of the plant's flower stalks. As these plantlets grow larger, their weight pulls the stalk down until it touches the ground, where the plantlets then take root.
