About Spatalla curvifolia Knight

Spatalla curvifolia Knight is a flat, rounded shrub that reaches only 80 cm (31 inches) in height, and it produces flowers year-round. This plant is killed by fire, but its seeds are able to survive fire events. Individuals are bisexual, and pollination is carried out by insects. Two months after flowering, ripe seeds drop to the ground, and are then dispersed by ants. This species grows between Kogelberg and Bredasdorp, where it inhabits areas with sandy soil at elevations ranging from 0 to 350 m (0 to 1,148 ft).
